Why Pick Kimkins for Weight Loss?

The best thing about Kimkins, for me, is that it's ALWAYS there. It's just a one-time fee...and you're in it for good!!!

I, too, thought that I would find something better out there. First, I signed-up for Kimkins thinking that I would try because it worked so well for my manager. Then, I cheated....a lot! I blamed the cheats on the diet...because it was so restricting. Then I spent a ton of money on....you guessed it, 4 other diets!!!!! They all had their high points...but the low points out-weighed the high ones! Check it out!!!!

-Nutrisystem $300 a month with prepackaged food (that tastes as good as my socks)

-Weight Watchers $30 a month with uncomfortable meetings. (if you weigh in...if you haven't lost that week, you feel too guilty to go)

-Cabbage Soup Diet $50...(this pays for all the groceries for a two-week supply of soup plus the new pair of panties you're gonna
need to buy after your first two days)...need I say more?

-Diet Pills/Slim-Fast Plan $100 for a month's worth of non-food bars and shakes and jitters, oh my!

-Kimkins $79.95...for a lifetime?....PRICELESS!

After all of the above???? I was SOOOOOOOOOOO grateful that I had my Kimkins membership. And you know what? if you actually do it, it works. How easy is that?

Only you can make the judgement call: Do you try Kimkins now? or....Do you spend hundreds, if not thousands, of $$$ finding out what DOESN'T work?

I'll see you on the forums!"

Soooooo EZ!

Gotta wonder where this diet has been all my life! This is soooooo EZ. I did another diet last year and I was counting everything all day long and I hated it. Thinking about lapband but if this works then I wont need it and my DH doesn't want me to get it anyway. Day 11 and 18 pounds have melted off! Hope this keeps going because it really makes me not want to cheat at all!! Thanks to the owners of this place for giving us a place to learn and support each other.

102 Pounds Vanished!
My Journey from Obesity to "Normal" Weight.

My weight loss struggle began when I reached my middle 40's. When I remarried in 1987, I was about 135 pounds. During the course of the next 20 years, the pounds just kept adding on. Some of this was due to my working schedule. I always worked the night shifts, usually 10- or 12- hour shifts. I worked for many years in the medical field, but did work as a 911 dispatcher for about 4 years, adding even more pounds as I ate because of stress. I later returned to the medical field doing sleep studies, requiring a 12- hour shift again.

In 1999 I had my first symptoms of what would take... read more here

If you're following the ridiculous Kimkins class action lawsuit a court hearing was held this morning. Opposing counsel, John Tiedt, had filed a Motion for Summary Judgment.

MOTION DENIED

Our new judge stated the Summary Judgment motion was premature, that the class hadn't been defined nor damages proven. The nearly 3 year saga continues ...

Could you have Metabolic Syndrome?

Woman WonderingA topic that gets a lot of discussion among dieters is "metabolic syndrome" -- and it doesn't have an absolute definition. People with metabolic syndrome tend to gain weight easily and have a harder time losing. If you have 3 or more of these factors your doctor may diagnose you with with Metabolic Syndrome:

  • Tummy Obesity: A waist measurement of 35" or more for women and 40" or more for men.
  • Low HDL Cholesterol: This is the "good" stuff that can protect against heart disease. Low HDL is <40.>
  • High Fasting Blood Glucose: Defined by a blood sugar level of 100+ after fasting (not eating) for 8-12 hours.
  • High Triglycerides: Considered borderline at 150 mg/dL and high at 200+ mg/dL.

If your health care provider diagnoses you with metabolic syndrome, the next step could be insulin resistance -- and that's the precursor to type 2 diabetes. How can you stop or reverse Metabolic Syndrome? With the same tools that help with insulin resistance or controlling type 2 diabetes! Read on ...

93 Lbs Gone! WOW!!!
Robert’s weight loss success is nothing short of spectacular! How did he do it? Read this entry from his Kimkins journal:

“Well, it's an interesting development. I've gotten down to 186 pounds and managed to put back a few. Now, don’t think it's been a cheating kind of week because it actually hasn’t. My body is changing for the better. I am gaining muscle tone where I didn't used to have it. I contribute my exercising and weight lifting to the weight gain. Did I gain 4 pounds? Maybe so, BUT, it wasn’t fat gain. My waistline maintains the same size and my stomach fat is slowly melting away. I can see my arms getting bigger and more definition in my abdomen area. This is a good thing.

Now, I have to concentrate on...Read more here

SUCCESS STORY
Meet Derek!

*** Amazing 125 Pounds Gone! ***

Derek Photo After Losing 125 Lbs!Derek Photo at 320 Lbs!

Height: 6' 2"
Start Weight: 320?
First Weigh-in: 300 lbs
Current Weight: 195 lbs
Total Loss: 125 lbs!!!
Start Pant Size: 50
Current Pant Size: 36

Read one of Derek's posts in the Kimkins member forums. He's a true example of determination to make positive healthy changes in his life:

My name is Derek. I have been a [Kimkins] member here for a while now, but this is my first post. Due to recent attacks against this diet plan, I decided I should at least share my story.

I began this plan early this year and lost the majority of the weight the first 4-5 months. I have since been at a steady 195 lbs now for 6 months. I actually began this diet without weighing myself. Once I started noticing a big difference in my face and clothes, I purchased a new digital scale and it read exactly 300 lbs. So unfortunately, I do not have a starting weight. My best guess would be that I weighed in the neighborhood of 320 or so, and have lost a total of about 125 lbs. I began the plan wearing a size 50 mens pants, and now I fit comfortably in a 36. (I'm 6'2")

Like I said, I hit my goal weight of 195 back in April/May and have been able to maintain it ever since. I eat 2-3 times a day, or whenever I am hungry. I still try to keep my carbs low, and occasionally eat something I shouldn't. If I notice a couple pounds on the scale, I go right back on plan and it melts off in no time.

I have not had any side effects whatsoever. I have *never* starved myself and always eat a multivitamin every day. I haven't weighed this little since I was in middle school.

Update 9/17/08:

Thought I would just post a quick update. My weight has not budged since losing more than 100 pounds last year. I am a gym rat now and really enjoy working out. If I don't go at least 4 times a week I feel lousy. My life has changed so much for the better, it's unreal. Here is a recent pic. Sorry for the quality, it's a quick cam.

How Do I Tell if My Body Frame is Small, Medium or Large?

Here's a quick estimate you can do right now. Wrap your thumb & middle finger around your opposite wrist at the smallest point.

  • If your middle finger & thumb overlap, you have a SMALL frame
  • If your middle finger & thumb meet, you have a MEDIUM frame
  • If your middle finger & thumb don't meet, you have a LARGE frame
Want something more concrete? Grab a tape measure and use the following chart to determine whether you're small, medium, or large boned. Or, use a professional caliper.

Women – Wrist Circumference:

Under 5'2"
small = wrist < 5.5"
medium = wrist 5.5” to 5.75"
large = wrist size > 5.75"

5'2" to 5'5"
small = wrist < 6"
medium = wrist 6" to 6.25"
large = wrist > 6.25"

Over 5'5"
small = wrist < 6.25"
medium = wrist 6.25" to 6.5"
large = wrist > 6.5"

Men – Wrist Circumference:

small = wrist 5.5" to 6.5"
medium = wrist 6.5" to 7.5"
large = wrist > 7.5"

Linda Lost 20 Pounds in 11 Days!

I'm a very impatient person. I have to see results fast. I've tried lots of diets and programs some worked okay but not fast enough to keep me going. I joined Kimkins in '08 and just have read alot of the sucess stories and read over the plans and reread and just floated around the web site. Getting my mind set right.

So Jun '09 started and I have lost 20 lbs. in 11 days. (I like those results) What's even better, I feel so good. I have energy!!! I can tie my shoes and my clothes fit better. I haven't changed my size and maybe because I started out wearing the wrong size because I was determined not to go up a size. So now my clothes fit. I look forward to wearing a different size in July and I have time to do that.

I love to read recipes and create my own. This is a very reasonable way to lose weight. I have a family and I fix them what I eat and they will just get rice or a potato or bread that I don't eat. We are eating more healthy than we ever have. This really feels right! Annieo, Utah
